Initial meeting (virtual) that lasts about half an hour to get to know each other, discover the client's desires for birth and figure out if we are a good fit for each other.
These meetings can last 1-3 hours and involve discussing your birth history, your desires and feelings over your current birth, potential fears or blockages to address, your birth plan, reviewing the process of labor and delivery, positions and exercises that may be beneficial during pregnancy or labor, infant feeding preparation, preparing for the postpartum period, as well as discovering how best I can support you before, during and after labor. Prayer is always offered.
A birth plan is a clear and concise statement of your desires and preferences about your birth. The birth plan can give important details to those responsible for providing care to you on your big day. I also include informational handouts in your client handbook, as well as provide faith declaration and scripture cards to meditate on throughout
Constant support whether it's a question about pregnancy or babies, or just needing someone to talk to. If you have a question about toddlers 2 years down the line - I'm still here for you!
I will have my ringer on 24/7 once you hit 38 weeks, so once labor begins I can meet you at home or the hospital.
The mother will never be left along during labor and delivery unless otherwise requested.
Photos/videos of birth are always offered unless the client requests otherwise.
Helping mom transition to postpartum, provide infant feeding support if needed.
The postpartum visit is typically scheduled 1-4 weeks after the birth and last 1-2 hours. It includes a homemade meal and can involve feeding support, infant care support, discussing the birth experience and addressing any other needs you might have.
