Initial meeting that lasts about an hour to get to know each other, discover the client's desires for birth and figure out if we are a good fit for each other.
These meetings can last 2-3 hours and involve discussing your birth history, your desires for your current birth, potential fears or blockages to address, your birth plan, reviewing the process of labor and delivery, and positions and exercises that may be beneficial during pregnancy or labor, as well as discovering how best I can support you during labor.
A birth plan is a clear and concise statement of your desires and preferences about your birth. The birth plan can give important details to those responsible for providing care to you on your big day. I also include informational handouts in your client handbook, and have a multitude of books on pregnancy, labor and parenting to help keep you informed should you desire to borrow them.
Constant support whether it's a question about pregnancy or babies, or just needing someone to talk to.
I will have my ringer on 24/7 once you hit 38 weeks, so once labor begins I can meet you at home or the hospital.
The mother will never be left along during labor and delivery unless otherwise requested.
Photos/videos of birth can be provided by Hannah if desired.
Helping mom transition to postpartum, provide breastfeeding support if needed.
The postpartum visit is typically scheduled 1-4 weeks after the birth and last 1-2 hours. It includes a homemade meal and can involve breastfeeding support, infant care support, discussing the birth experience and addressing any other needs you might have.
